Winter in Slovakia
LOW TATRAS.
Jasna (950-2020 metres above sea level) one of the
largest and most famous centres of winter sports.
The centres offers 13 downhill ski runs with 21 km
of length, 5-kilometre long cross country track for
beginners, 21-kms long leisure cross country track
and 15-kms long tourist cross country skiing track.
Donovaly(900-1360 metres above sea level) ranks
among the most popular important ski resort in
Slovakia. Lovers of downhill skiing and snowboarding
can use 10 kms long ski runs offering excellent skiing
conditions for very demanding skiersas well as complete
beginners. Total lenght of ski runs is 11 kms. Dominant
feature of the centre is a 1325 metre long 3 seat funiclar
to Nova Hola peak (1360 metres above sea level).
Tale (670-870 metres above sea level) Well liked ski
resort with artificial snow conditions and maintained ski
slopes. Downhill ski slopes on the South offer skiing
conditions for beginners and not demanding skiers.
HIGH TATRAS.
Strbske Pleso (1350-1840 metres above sea level).
The centre offers perfectly maintained slopes for
downhill skiing and tracks for cross country skiing
, 2 funiculars and 3 ski lifts. You can ski there at night
as well as sledge and paraglide. There are race and
tourist cross country tracks of 1, 5 and 10 kilometres
in length as well as 6 downhill ski tracks.
Stary Smokovec - Hrebienok (1285-1440 metres above sea level)
Hrebienok ski centre is located in the central part of the High Tatras
by the village of Stary Smokovec and is connected with it by a ground
funicular and a 3200-metre long ski run
Tatranska Lomnica - Skainate Pleso (1750-2200 metres above sea level). The centre of downhill skiing located on the highest point in the Tatras by the village of Tatranska Lomnica on western slope of Lomnicky peak (2653 metres).
